In Winnipeg, Nicole can’t figure out the shower, Brady laughs and tells her he bought Elkhorn Hardware. Nicole's shocked and giggly. He tells her that oddly, 'hardware stores are really big in Winnipeg'. Brady convinces her this will be a great life together and mumbles something about having the best hardware store on "Maple Street." Their spontaneous light-hearted rural life lasts for about 5 minutes because just them Skip knocks on the door.

Nicole returns to Laredo after the warehouse fire where she was presumed dead and quickly complicates the custody battle over Heidi.
