The Thirsty Marlin
This live feed of the Thirsty Marlin's' lobby aquarium is interrupted every 5 minutes by an apathetic waiter reading the daily specials. It only airs Friday and Saturday evening but is regularly the most popular show on The Island.
The Blue Whale
An intermitten live/“live” feed of the whale sculpture in the The Blue Whale pub’s parking lot. The camera feed is often down for one reason or another. When the feed is working, the whale’s tail wags slowly. At the bottom of the screen you see a lot of golf carts going this way and that. Every minute or two the whale says one of a handful of phrases. Every six months or so the phrases change. Some of them are: Water you doing tonight?, Dive in today, You’re halfwhale here already, The drinks are fin-tastic, No wailing just drinking, No blubbering just good food, Tonight's featured music: Whalin’ Jennings, We’ll be waving when you walk through the door, Dam.
The Blue Whale originally aired at 11am when the Marlin opened each day and it opened with an employee unlocking the front door and walking up to the camera and shouting, “Walk on in today for a whale of a time.” The show was intended as competition to The Thirsty Marlin, but since it did little useful promotional work for the pub, it has become its own offbeat show with a very small following, mostly due to the corny phrases the whale says but also for a handful of viewers the golf carts racing by. The Blue Whale actually stopped producing the show in 2002 but a group of zealous fans continue making new episodes with old footage on top of which they record new whale voices. Since the new production team took over they’ve continued to broadcast portions where the camera feed is down, in the spirit of the original show, even though there is no live feed. The show now occupies a late late night slot.

Where’s Waldo

Where’s Wendell taking bets on how long it would last before Wendell caught on. The network cancelled the show for terms violations and D.O.T.B. sued, the lawsuit is ongoing.
A Sleep or Not A Sleep
Contestants submit 1 minute clips of themselves and fans vote if they are sleeping or pretending to sleep. Winners, those who trick a majority of the audience, advance to the next show. The tapes get longer until the finale where the last two contestants submit 15 minute tapes. The winner gets the job of color commentator for the next season and is featured in a sleeping pills commercial.
Let It Snow
appears sporadically and without warning for random durations between late November and March giving residents the opportunity to once again exclaim “It’s Snowing.” Most residents tune in if they know it’s on, but retention is very low especially after December. Note: it has never and cannot snow on The Island.
Previous Days of Our Lives
is the noon broadcast, on 40 year delay, of Days of Our Lives delivering the show in peak form.
After Hours
Late night casual lectures from a local university professor promoting self help, sacred geometry, and tele-vision.
RRRR (Spanish pronunciation)
Originally a home improvement series called Remodels Renovations Rehabs and Reconstructions (changed to Re Re Re Re after the first season, then RRRR after the second), it is now a showcase for the repetitive hobbies of Island dwellers. Now in its 27th season, RRRR is one of the longest running original programs on The Island.
In a season 20 episode Doris showed how she gessos her canvases. The Producer appeared selectively in his then role of “best boy” in a season 22 episode showing 26 takes and behind the scenes action from an Island toothpaste commercial.
The season 5 episode on haircuts is a classic and still rebroadcast every spring on Haircut Day.
Ned appeared in season 3 as the interviewer of The Island’s Time Master (the job title of the time, later changed to Mayor of Time). Ned has been repeatedly asked to appear on the show again but has refused since the season 11 episode where he fell down a well. Since becoming a painter RRRR has asked to record Ned cleaning his brushes. Having given up that approach, one of the younger producers of RRRR is courting Ned for an episode on one of his pre-painting rituals or vision exercises.
Posture with Pat
Pat walks around the mall wielding a ruler smacking offenders on their offending part(s) and then counseling them and working through bodily exercises. It always ends happily with the people thanking Pat for changing their life.
ITV-8 is available only in DT zones. Files on tapes and chips are so far unable to survive for more that a few hours in DT zones, and even in that window the files are being corrupted. For these reasons these shows have never been viewed outside their broadcast zone. Though the technology for temporary DT zones exists, it is only possesed by The Mayor and he's never been a fan of television. The Mayor softened slightly as a gift to his apprentice James/Ernest who is a devoted fan of Hotel Parking Lot and Wet Water Water Wet. Currently ITV-8 re-broadcasts in the back of their Laredo jewelry store everyday except Sunday and it's range there is only about 50 feet. The notable exception to these broadcasting limitations is the program Laredo which braodcasts to Laredo. No explanation for this exception has ever been given, but since it is played on regular tv in Laredo soem sort of transfer process must exist.
After the ITV station fire in 1996, all the master tapes were destroyed. Some VHS copies stored off site have since been digitized. These selections from the archive played randomly, muted of course, as filler during the daily unwinding hour prior to the implementation of Reverse Mode's built-in unwinding.
